JAMESON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

Continuing HB144 Students

If you are an HB144 student attending the University of Utah and have completed, or will have completed after the current spring semester, at least one year of studies at the University of Utah, you are eligible to apply for the Jameson Family Scholarship, administered by Holy Cross Ministries.

The Jameson Family Scholarship offers up to two students $2,000 toward his/her college tuition. This scholarship is only valid at the University of Utah and will be paid out in two installments - one at the start of the fall semester and one at the start of the following semester.

WHO QUALIFIES?

To be eligible for the Jameson Family Scholarship an individual must have been accepted as an HB144 student by the University of Utah, have completed at least one year at the University of Utah, be a motivated student with a good academic record, have financial need, and be enrolled as full-time. Preference will be given to Latino/a students. ALL students must be enrolled as full-time (12 credits or more) in order to receive this award. Preference will also be given to (a) students who are majoring in the College of Social and Behavioral Science, (b) students who have been involved in leadership and/or community activities, and (c) students who graduated from Wayne County High School, although the scholarship award will not be limited to these students alone.

Fill out the application form and submit it with the required materials listed below postmarked no later than February 20, 2010 to:

El DREAM Act

El Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act es mas conocido como el DREAM Act. Esta propuesta fue introducida para ayudar a estudiantes indocumentados obtener una residencia condicional en los Estados Unidos. Esta propuesta permitiria a estos estudiantes continuar estudiando, viajar, manejar y trabajar sin tener el miedo de ser deportados.

El DREAM Act fue introducido el 26 de Marzo del 2009 y lo estaremos siguiendo muy cerca. Estaremos mandando correos electronicos y haciendo llamadas telefonicas para CONVENZER a nuestros legisladores de que pasen el DREAM Act y asi ayudar a los estudiantes indocumnetados alcanzar sus SUEÑOS!!!!!

The DREAM Act

The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act is also known as the DREAM Act. This Act has been introduced in order to help undocumented students achieve a conditional residency in the United States of America, allowing the students to be able to continue studying, travel, drive and even work without having the fear of being deported.

The DREAM Act was introduced on March 26, 2009 and we will be closely following this Act. We will be sending e-mails and making phone calls to ENCOURAGE our legislators to pass the DREAM Act and help undocumented students pursue their DREAMS!!!!!!!!
